SCDNR To Host Wing Shooting Clinic On Aug. 5

The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources  is offering their annual Wing Shooting Clinic for the upcoming dove season.
Hunting is a tradition that runs deep within South Carolina. Promoting and training safe and responsible hunting is an integral part of the overall SCDNR’s mission. The Wing Shooting Clinic will cover all of the most important virtues of a sportsman. The clinic will be held on August 5th in Marion County from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
The clinic will introduce all the basic wing shooting skills needed for a successful hunt. Participants with wing shooting skill levels from beginner to advance will learn how to safely handle and shoot a shotgun. The target presentations will resemble actual field hunting situations and game. Youth in attendance will have the opportunity to clean, cook, and most importantly sample quail they have prepared. The local game warden will go over basic laws and safety while in the field and will also have on hand some of the latest gear for bird hunting.
The clinic is completely FREE and lunch will be provided. SCDNR welcomes parents to stay and enjoy the clinic and lunch.
Dillon County residents are invited and encouraged to attend.
To register, youth must be at least 10 years of age and complete a clinic application. If you would like more information or an application to attend, please contact Lt. Kim Leverich at Leverichk@ dnr.sc.gov or 843-870-5574.
Davis said the realtors should step up and handle this. He said the realtors can really sell and he thinks they will be glad to do it.
