It was a happy birthday for the Rogers’ twins in Lake View as Weston signed and Carson celebrated his commitment to play college baseball on Thursday. Also celebrating was Josh Price who will also play college baseball. All will be pitchers.
Weston Rogers signed with Wofford College. Rogers said he thinks that Wofford will push him to do his best both physically and mentally. He said his change-up or slider is his best pitch depending on the day, but he will be bringing with him his determination to succeed. Rogers has been All-Rookie and has been All-State twice.
Brother, Carson Rogers, celebrated his commitment to play with Florence-Darlington Technical College. He said he chose FDTC because they will help him get bigger, stronger, and better. His best pitch is his curve ball, but he said he also has a strong work ethic. He has made All-Rookie and has been All-State twice.
His parents said they have a lot of people to thank including his coaches, including Coach Kip Herlong, who were very instrumental in their success in baseball. They said words are difficult to express. “We have taught them values, and we hope they have good success in the future. We hope they follow the guidelines we have set as parents and the ones set in the educational field in Lake View.”
Josh Price celebrated his commitment with Florence-Darlington Technical College. He said FDTC is another step toward his dream. He was All-Rookie and All-State. His parents said that Price has worked very hard to get where he is. “We are very proud of his character which is far better than any sport.”
Carson and Josh will officially sign in January.
After the signings, parents will be providing a chicken bog lunch with cake for all to celebrate.
