7:00 p.m.
Lake View Council Chambers

Present: Mayor Boston Page, Jr.
Council Members: Mertis Barnett, Layton Townsend, Matthew Elvington, David Johnson
Clerk/Treasurer: Sara Elvington and Visitors

Agenda
Prayer: Mayor Page asked Councilman Layton Townsend to open the meeting with a prayer.
1) Meeting called to order by Mayor Page.
2) Minutes from July 16, 2015 presented, Councilman Matthew Elvington made a motion to accept the minutes and Councilman David Johnson seconded the motion with all in agreement.
3) The Lake View Farm to Table committee (Mrs. Johnnie and Mrs. Pat) presented the information on the upcoming event to be held September 29, 2015 @5:30 at Little Pee Dee State Park. This is to help promote tourism and our local producers. They shared with much enthusiasm the great ideas they have for Dillon County and all the upcoming events for October, November, and December, afterwards they exited.
4) Chief Wayne Campbell along with his officers presented to the Mayor and Council some new ideas of expanding patrol three miles out of town limits. The Chief had been in contact with the Dillon County Sheriff on any legality. This would expand their jurisdiction hoping to intervene and detour crime in the local area. Mayor and Council agreed to allow this on a trial basis. The Mayor and Council were assured by the Police Chief that the town would still be covered and that the police would only be minutes away from anything going on. Chief Campbell presented new ideas for surveillance cameras for the police station in and outside the station. Chief Campbell has filed for grants to help subsidize some of the cost if approved. Chief and officers then exited.
5) The problem with the stray dogs seems to be getting under control. The dogs had become more aggressive over time; the county was called in to help with this matter.
6) Delays in trash pick up have been a concern for many citizens of the town. Mayor Page had spoken with someone about this and it does seem to be a little better.
7)  Discussions on the phone service, pricing and electrical matters were discussed at great length and the possibility of bundling some services. AT&T is offering a great deal on some services and we would be looking into this.
Meeting was adjourned.
