Latta’s Lady Vikings took down Hannah-Pamplico 7-4 in Monday night’s softball action.
The Vikings scored two runs in the second and one in the top of the third to lead 3-0, but the Raiders scored three runners in the bottom of the third to tie things up 3-3 for the next two innings. Latta took the lead in the sixth with four runs, with Dallas Sweat hitting a triple that scored Raven Baxley and Dori Webster. Hannah-Pamplico scored their final run in the seventh.
The Raiders had 10 hits in the game and seven errors, while Latta had just four hits.
Dallas Sweat led Latta at bat, going 2-for-4 with the triple and two RBIs. Dori Webster hit a sinlge with an RBI.
Jessie Sims went 3-for-4 for Hannah Pamplico with one RBI and one run.
Anna Rogers picked up the win on the mound for the Vikings. She pitched six innings and struck out seven while allowing only seven hits, three runs, three earned runs, and three walks.Tori Grimsley got the save, pitching one inning for six outs.
Lindsey Prosser took the loss for the Raiders, pitching a complete game for four hits, seven runs, three earned runs, three walks, and five outs.
Latta improves to 6-1 for the season and 2-1 in Region 8A. Hannah-Pamplico is now 1-3 overall and 1-1 in Region 7A.
The Lady Vikings will be at home on Friday for a double header against South Florence beginning at 5:00 p.m. On Tuesday, March 27, the Vikings will host Lake View at 5:30 p.m. Make plans to attend to support our local teams!
