James Gary Roberts, 82, died Sunday, July 17, 2011, at McLeod Medical Center-Dillon.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Wednesday in Trinity Holiness Church with burial in Oak Grove Church Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Tuesday Carson Roberts residence, 131 McDowell Ct., Latta.
Born in Dillon County, August 12, 1928, he was the son of the late Lewis Roberts and Lillie Roberts. He was a member of Trinity Holiness Church, and was the widower of the late Julia Ray Hayes Roberts.
Survivors include his children, Carson (Mency) Roberts of Oak Grove, Janice Roberts of Oak Grove, Judy Roberts of Oak Grove, Allen (Carol) Roberts of Latta, Rocky (Diane) Roberts of Brownsville, Gene (Debbie) Roberts of Blenheim; half-brothers, Morgan Johnson of Mullins, Gene Lovette of Dillon and Carl Lovette of Latta; 34 granchildren and 77 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by his son, Johnny Roberts; daughter, Agnes Roberts Wilkes, and his special grandsons, Little Gary Roberts and Randy Roberts.
