Graveside services for Gene Nelson Lane were held 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at Bethesda Southern Methodist Church Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation was held 3:30-4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the cemetery.
Mr. Lane, 78, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2020 at his residence.
Born in Dillon County, SC, January 25, 1942, he was the son of the late Samuel Lane and Ora Lee Taylor Lane. He was a retired truck driver and farmer.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Janice Cox Lane of Latta; children, Jeanne Smith, Ricky (Connie) Lane, both of Latta, Sherri (Neil) Grice of Evans, GA, and Teresa Felder of Florence, SC; grandchildren, Terry (Ryan) Smith, Kasey (Brandon) Bustamante, Jeffrey (Rebecca) Lane, Sarah Catherine (Koby) Lane, Steven (Katie) Lane, Taylor Grice, Adam Grice, Tyler Lane, and Brillesia Felder; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Jeremiah, Gavin, Liam, Blakely, Emma, Hayden, Callie, Jake, Elijah, and Carter; brothers, Charles Lane, Ed Lane, Durwood Lane, Leo Lane, and Glenn Lane.
Mr. Lane was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister and brothers, Catherine Tyler, Billy Lane, David Lane, Harold Lane, and Larry Lane.
