This past weekend South of the Border MX hosted an amazing motocross event. The AMA Southeast Area qualifier, Thor Mega Series, and Parts Unlimited Ultra Series all took place at SOBMX on Friday, February 23 through Sunday, February 25.

This past weekend I had an amazing experience covering all the races thanks to SOBMX and Victory Sports Racing. The Victory Sports team treated me like I was family and allowed me to be around their full operation of the races on Saturday and Sunday. Not only was the hospitality great but so were the races! From start to finish the races were competitive on all levels from the 50cc e bikes to the 450’s. I can’t stress enough about how great of a time I had and how much I recommend the public in going to check it out for their next event. I want to personally thank Ryan Schafer and Sam Gammon for putting on such a great event.
Hometown rider Austin Schafer had a great weekend on the track. On Saturday he placed second in both motos for the 250 B Limited Class on his #361 KTM. Schafer won both motos in the Schoolboy 1 (12-17) B/C Class. Schafer placed 4th in the 450 B Limited class after placing 7th and 2nd in moto 1 and 2. On Sunday Austin placed second in the 450 B class after coming in second in both motos. Schafer placed 1st in the 125 B/C (12-17) class after winning both motos on the day.
