Carl Daniels

Carl Daniels, age 80, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.
Born in Lake City, SC, on October 5, 1943, he was the son of the late Delton C. Daniels and Vermelle Eaddy Daniels. He graduated from Lake City High School and began his career with Winn Dixie and Piggly Wiggly. He founded Carl’s Food Center in Dillon, SC in 1982. He also opened Carl’s Food Center in Bennettsville, SC with his son in 1999. He served six years honorably in the South Carolina Army National Guard. He was a member of Dillon First Baptist Church and the retired Owner and Operator of Carl’s Food Center.
Mr. Daniels was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Emma Jo Bailey and Bernice Daniels, both of Florence, SC. As well as his twin brother Carey Daniels of Homestead, FL. Also preceding him are two grandsons, Del and Joshua Daniels.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Dorothy McKenzie Daniels of Dillon; children, Rae Daniels Moody (Greg) of Raleigh, NC, Mark Daniels (Bridgette) of Blenheim, SC, and Miranda Daniels Williams (Russell) of Dillon; grandchildren, Austin Moody, Mary Moody, Brandon Daniels, Brianna McCall, Amanda Williams, and Cade Williams; great-grandchildren, Elijah Daniels, Casey Del McCall and Shelby Rae Moody; brothers, William Lee Daniels of Cayce, SC, Wanda Cook of Chapin, SC, and Darrel Daniels of Tabor City, NC. His family was his pride and joy.
Carl Daniels loved his wife with all of his heart and was the best role model his family could ever have. He taught as all the importance of heartfelt service, sacrifice and living a life devoted to our Savior.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. on Friday, November 24, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Dillon, SC with entombment in Evergreen Perpetual Care Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be held from 1:30-2:45 p.m. prior to the service.
The family would like to extend sincerest gratitude to Patriot Healthcare for taking such exceptional care for him and his family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 400 N 4th Avenue., Dillon, or Patriot Healthcare/Hospice, 3079 US-701 Hwy Unit E, Conway, SC.
