Paige Sherman Signs With Lander University

Paige Sherman signed with Lander University at Greenwood, S.C., in the next step of her softball and education career on Tuesday, November 14.
Sherman was surrounded by family, friends, players, and coaches at the signing held at Dillon High School Gymnasium at 1230 Hwy. 301 North, Dillon, S.C.
She has devoted 11 years of her life to the sport she loves and excels. Her Mom was her number 1 influencer in this sport. Although Paige is a great softball player, she also plays volleyball.
Although Sherman had many other offers from other universities, Sherman believes she will be a great fit at Lander University as the school is the “right size” for her. She will major in Exercise Science and Kinesiology.
Sherman has always believed in hard work and will carry that work ethic with her to the next level. She has always demonstrated her respect for the game of softball in the manner in which she carries herself onto and off the practice and playing fields.
Sherman will always have the special memory of the state championship game against Seneca.
While playing for Dillon High School, Sherman received many awards such as All State, MVP, All Region, and Region Player of the Year.
While not on the practice or playing fields, Sherman enjoys swimming, going to the beach, and hanging out with her friends. And, of course, eating delicious food!
Paige’s parents, Stewart and Stacey Sherman are very proud of their daughter’s accomplishments and look forward to her continued success both on and off the softball fields.
Stewart and Stacey Sherman remarked “Since Paige was 7 years old, Paige has dreamed of the day that she would sign for a college softball program. She’s put in the time and work to hone her craft and become an all-around excellent softball player. She has developed not only as a player, but a leader and great teammate. Paige loves the game of softball and is so excited to join the Lander Bearcats and continue to excel in the sport she loves while earning a degree at such a fine university.
Her parents, Stewart and Stacey Sherman have been with her from day one, taking her to practices, tournaments, pitching specialists and anywhere else she needed to go to continue to grow and develop as an elite softball player. They are so proud that Coach Gibbs and staff saw what her parents already knew that Paige was ready to play at the next level.”
Dillon High School Coach Quick stated, “Paige was a pleasure to coach. She always worked hard and was always ready to come to practice. She will be successful in anything she does.”
Dillon High School Coach Twin remarked, ” Coaching Paige though her high school years of playing this sport I have witnessed nothing but her love for this game and her teammates plus coaches. To say the least, she has a great feel for the game and always managed to pick up her teammates no matter how the game was going. That’s one of the reasons that I can say that she will do whatever it takes to do her best and to make the people around her better. I can go on about her in so many words but this is what describes her personality… she is a Bull! So, with that being said, y’all are getting one of the best I ever coached! And coach Twin said so!” Dillon High School Head Softball Coach Stevie exclaimed, “Paige has been a four-year-starter for us at pitcher. She has performed very well for us in some big games over the years. I think she will do very well at Lander. Not only is she a good ball player, but she also is a better person. She helped the Dillon program. She has helped Dillon make it to 3 lower state championships. Paige will be with us for the upcoming season.”
