Dillon High School Junior Joshiah Thompson committed to the University of South Carolina Gamecocks at a press conference held at the Dillon High School Auditorium on Friday, April 14, at 9:00 a.m.
Dillon High School Head Football Coach Kelvin Roller recalled that it seemed like only a short time ago when Thompson was an eight-grader when Coach Barfield witnessed his greatness in football. Since Thompson’s time with the Dillon High School football program under the direction of Offensive Coach Norman Quick, Thompson is one of the all-time greats…any college or university would be happy to have him in the school’s program.
Roller stressed that Thompson has a great work ethic. Roller stated “Thompson is a good kid. He comes from a good family environment. It is easy to see the connection among the family ties. Thompson will be very successful in any future endeavor.”
Josiah Thompson took control of the microphone and thanked the Lord for giving him the ability to play the sport he loves so much. He thanked his parents, his brother, his sister, Coach Hayes, Coach Roller, the entire Dillon High School football coaching staff, his rec coaches, and his teammates. He offered a special thank you to his sister and brother for their motivation for him.
Thompson was sought after by many great colleges/universities such as Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Tennessee, University of Miami, and, of course, the University of South Carolina. He announced his decision of his commitment…the University of South Carolina Gamecocks.
Thompson showed a video of the University of South Carolina. He is very happy with his decision.
Congratulations to Josiah Thompson and his family!
