A primary election will be held on Tuesday, July 12th for the Dillon County Council District Two seat left vacant by the death of Councilman Chris Miller.
Since this is a primary, voters will have to choose which political party primary that they wish to vote in – Democratic or Republican.
Candidates on the Republican ballot are Stacy Jackson and Dennis L. Townsend.
Candidates on the Democratic ballot include Larry Abraham, Mark Elliott, and Sterling Bull Lee.
If a run-off is necessary in the Democratic party primary, it will be held on Tuesday, July 26th. Only people who voted in the Democratic Party Primary on July 12th or people who did not vote, will be able to vote in the July 26th Democratic Party Primary run-off if one is necessary.
If one voted in the Democratic or Republican primaries in June, it does not affect this special election. One can choose to vote in either party primary on July 12th regardless of which primary they voted in June.
The general election for the Dillon County Council District Two seat will be held on Tuesday, September 13th.
The winning candidate in the general election will serve the remainder of the term left vacant by Miller’s passing.
The precincts involved in this election are Lake View, Kemper, Pleasant Hill, Bermuda, Floyd Dale, and Fork.
