Ann Jackson of Latta received the Dixie Youth Lifetime Achievement Award and was inducted into the Dixie Youth Hall of Fame on Wednesday, March 16, at her home in Latta, S.C. The presentation was made by Dixie Youth Officials: S. C. State Dixie Youth Softball District 1 Director Naomi Carmichael, former S. C. State Director Dixie Youth Softball Director Phil Parnell, and National Director Dixie Youth Softball Lee Ellis. Jackson was surrounded by family, friends, and many others.
Jackson was named a coach of Dixie Youth when she was only 18 years old and has continued to serve the Dixie Youth until her sickness. After Jackson left the Latta Recreation Department, she was employed by Latta High School as a teacher’s aide and also coached high school basketball until she resigned due to her sickness.
Sadly, Jackson passed away on Sunday, March 20.
