SHOOTING
Timothy Ronshawn Woods, age 29, of Dillon, is charged with two counts of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and malicious injury to property after an incident on Nicole Street which occurred on June 25, according to the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the warrant, the shooting allegedly occurred over an argument about gold teeth that one victim had purchased from the suspect.
A second victim was also shot when the suspect fired a gunshot which entered through the door of a residence and struck the victim in the thigh.
A car of a third person was also shot striking the hood, windshield, and rear driver’s side glass.
FATAL COLLISION

A fatal collision occurred on July 4th, according to Lance Cpl. Tyler Tidwell of the S.C. Highway Patrol.
Dillon County Coroner Donnie Grimsley had not released the name of the deceased at press time.
The collision occurred at approximately 2:37 p.m. at Highway 34 at Harllee’s Bridge Road.
A 2004 Nissan Xterra was traveling east on Highway 34. All three occupants in this vehicle were wearing seatbelts.
A Volkswagen Atlas was traveling south on Harllee’s Bridge Road with five occupants. Two of the occupants were not wearing seatbelts.
Tidwell said that the Volkswagen Atlas disregarded a stop sign and was struck on the passenger’s side. The deceased, a passenger, was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.

The driver was killed in a wreck which occurred on U.S. 301 near Williams Pond Road on July 3rd, according to Lance Cpl. Tyler Tidwell of the S.C. Highway Patrol.
Dillon County Coroner Donnie Grimsley had not released the name of the deceased at press time.
Tidwell said the wreck occurred at 3:25 a.m. about 2.8 miles north of Hamer. The driver of a 1999 Ford Explorer was traveling north on U.S. 301.
The vehicle overturned several times, and the driver was ejected. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt.
GENERAL SESSIONS COURT
Fourth Circuit Judge Paul Burch presided over a term of General Sessions Court in Dillon last week where nearly 100 people appeared for various hearings, mostly guilty pleas. Cyril Lowery was sentenced to prison for a burglary that occurred in December 2020. Andrew Sipka was sentenced to prison for abusing a child earlier this year. David Brown was sentenced to prison for criminal sexual conduct that occurred in 2018.
Antron McRae was sentenced to prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Jessica Blackmon and Lamont Simmons were sentenced to prison for distribution of ecstasy.
Daniel Hamer was sentenced to prison for domestic violence, resisting arrest and threatening an officer.
