Lady Wildcats Get 7-5 Win Over Swamp Foxes

The Dillon Lady Wildcats returned home on Thursday, May 13, with a 7-5 win over the Marion Lady Swamp Foxes in varsity softball action played in Marion.
The Lady Wildcats jumped out to 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning and added 2 runs in the top of the second inning. The Lady Swamp Foxes responded with 5 runs in the bottom of the second inning to cut the deficit to only 1 run, 6-5. Dillon added a run in the top of the fourth inning to go up 7-5.
Paige Sherman picked up the win for Dillon. She pitched 4 innings and allowed 2 hits, walked 1, struck out 6, and allowed no runs. Chesney Caddell started on the mound and pitched 3 innings. She allowed 3 hits, walked 2, and allowed 5 runs that were not earned.
Libiedz took the loss. She pitched 7 innings and allowed 9 hits, walked no one, struck out 3, and allowed 7 earned runs.
Dillon committed 3 errors in the game. Marion did not commit an error in the game.
Dillon’s Jenascia Lester had a home run, a single, and a rbi in her 3 at-bats. Ny Wilson had a double and 3 rbi n her 3 at-bats. Lexie Rogers had a single and a rbi in her 4 at-bats. Qy Wilson had a double and 2 singles in her 4 at-bats. Cierra Grice had a single in her 2 at-bats while Logan Grice had a single in her 3 at-bats.
Marion’s Williams had a triple and 2 rbi in her 4 at-bats. Lebiedz had a single and a rbi in her 3 at-bats. Cribb and Howard each had a single in 3 at-bats. K. Johnson had a single in 4 at-bats.
