PHOTO GALLERY: City Of Dillon Holds Christmas Tree Lighting

By Betsy Finklea
The City of Dillon kicked off the Christmas season with a festive tree lighting event in the plaza on Main Street.
Dan E. Lockemy was the host for the event and made the event lively with his music and commentary.
Rev. Matt Adams of Dillon Presbyterian Church gave the opening prayer.
Mayor Pro-Tem Phil Wallace delivered a moving speech and shared deep thoughts about the meaning of the Christmas tree, the Bible, and Jesus Christ.
The Christmas tree was lit and Dance Dimensions dancers danced to “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree.’
This was followed by the arrival of Santa, who both young and old were delighted to see visit Dillon.
Many in attendance enjoyed the hot chocolate provided under the City of Dillon tent.
The festivities continued with children sharing their wishes with Santa, and Dan E. Lockemy playing the sounds of Christmas.
The City shared the festivities on Facebook® Live for all of those who did not wish to attend due to COVID-19.
