Lake View Gets Win Over East Clarendon

The Lake View Wild Gators varsity football team outscored the East Clarendon Wolverines 42-14 on Friday, October 2, in Lake View.
Lake View hit pay dirt first on an 18-yard run by Marquise Johnson and a 2-point conversion run by Michael McInnis in the first quarter.
D. J. Bethea scampered 56 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter for the Wild Gators. The 2-point pass from D. J. Bethea to Adarrian Dawkins was good.
Lake View’s Ja’Correus Ford connected for a score on an 18-yard run. The 2-point run conversion failed.
D. J. Bethea once again crossed into the end zone on a 4-yard carry. The 2-point conversion run failed.
At halftime Lake View was up 28-0 over the visiting Wolverines.
Jayden Ford scored on an 88-yard kick-off return in the third quarter. Adarrian Dawkins rushed for the 2-point conversion.
In the third quarter, East Clarendon’s Matthew Hardwick ran 62 yards for the Wolverines first score of the game. Kyler Odom’s PAT was good.
Lake View’s final score came on a 1-yard run by Michael McInnis in the final quarter. The 2-point run conversion attempt failed.

Lake View’s D. J. Bethea rushed for 83 yards and 2 touchdowns on 7 carries He also connected on 2 for 10 pass attempts for 45 yards and an interception. Ja ‘Correus Ford carried the pigskin 19 times for 115 yards.
Hunter Norton led the Wild Gators on defense with 12 tackles.
Lake View will travel to Johnsonville on Friday, October 9, for a 7:30 p.m. game.
