Adam Jacobs and Hunter Jordan were ordained as deacons by First Baptist Church Dillon Sunday, August 30, 2020 at the Sunday morning worship services.
Senior Pastor Jamie Arnette delivered the sermon, “What God Wants.”
At the end of the sermon, Joe Johnson, 2019-2020 Chairman of the Deacons addressed the duties of a deacon.
Adam and Hunter then gave their personal testimonies. Leon Peacock, 2019-2020 Vice-Chairman of the Deacons, led a congregational responsive reading.
Following the reading, ordained deacons and ministers participated in the Laying on of Hands in recognition of God’s call and to commission them to service.
The following men have been elected to serve as Deacons for the 2020-2021 church year: Gene Arnette, John Bracey (Secretary), Chris Dove, Jess Easterling, Mickey Fore, Mike Hayes (Vice-Chairman), Chris Huth, Roy Jackson, Adam Jacobs, Art Jordan (Chairman), Hunter Jordan, Thomas Jordan, Alex Lewis, Leon Peacock, and Lonnie Turner.
