The Latta School Board of Trustees met for the regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. in the District Administrative Conference Room.
Trustees present were Kyle Berry, Vanessa Harrison, Kwame Hennagan, Stuart Hennagan, Stuart Poston, Eleanor Powers, and JoAnn Williamson. Ray George was absent.
Chair Kyle Berry welcomed all present and Dr. John Kirby opened with a prayer.
There being no corrections or additions to the September 10, 2019 minutes and the current agenda, Chair Kyle Berry ruled that they stand approved.
Departmental Business
Donna Taylor presented the status report for August 2019 on the General Fund budget.
An audit process status update was given by Donna Taylor.
Sandy Jones update the Board on the Exceptional Children program.
George Liebenrood gave an update on test scores.
An update on bus routes, roofing project, and HVAC project was given by Larry Legette.
Dr. John Kirby discussed school safety drills and school activities safety procedures.
Eleanor Powers shared the Ellis Performing Arts Center upcoming events with the Board.
New Business
Chair Kyle Berry discussed nominating a delegate to the South Carolina School Board Association’s 2019 Delegate Assembly.
There being no further business, Chair Kyle Berry adjourned the meeting with unanimous consent at 7:55.
