Dillon Wildcats Edged Out By Academic Magnet, 7-6

The Dillon Wildcats varsity baseball team’s season came to an end on Thursday, April 25, after being edged out 7-6 by Academic Magnet in the bottom of the seventh inning in North Charleston.
The Dillon Wildcats scored 2 runs in the top of the second inning to go up 2-0. However, Academic Magnet responded with 3 runs in the bottom of the second to take a 3-2 lead. Dillon scored a run in the top of the fourth inning to tie the score at 3 each. Dillon added another run in the top of the fifth inning to take a 1-run lead. Academic Magnet scored 2 runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to take a 1-run lead.
Dillon’s Tristan Brigman singled to left field to score J. T. Lester and Noah Carter to give Dillon a 6-5 lead in the top of the seventh inning.
Academic Magnet scored 2 runs in the bottom of the seventh to claim the win.
Dillon managed 13 hits in the game to Academic Magnet’s 7 hits.
Dillon’s Tristan Brigman connected for 3 hits and 2 rbi in his 4 at-bats. J. T. Lester had a double, a single, and 2 rbi in his 4 at-bats. Quamez Carter had a double and a rbi in his 3 at-bats. Austin Tyndall had a single and a rbi in his 3 at-bats.
Dillon committed 2 errors in the game, and Academic Magnet did not commit an error.
Windom was credited with the win. He pitched 2 innings and allowed 4 hits, 2 earned runs, and did not walk or strike out anyone.
Noah Carter was charged with the loss. He pitched 6 2/3 innings and allowed 7 hits, 7 runs of which 3 were earned, walked 4, and struck out 9.
