The Latta Lady Vikings won 10-2 over Hannah-Pamplico on Monday, April 22, in varsity softball action played in Latta.
Latta jumped out to an early 4-0 lead after the first inning and continued to add runs. In the bottom of the second inning, the Lady Vikings placed 4 more runs on the scoreboard and added another run in the bottom of the third and led 9-0 before Hannah-Pamplico placed 2 runs on the scoreboard in the top of the fourth inning. Latta sent another run across home plate in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Arica Gandy picked up the win for the Latta Lady Vikings. She pitched 6 innings and allowed 4 hits, 2 runs of which 1 was earned, walked 1, and struck out 4.
Riley Calcutt took the loss. She pitched 2.2 innings and allowed 4 hits, 2 runs of which 1 was earned, and struck out or walked no one.
Jordyn Hudson started the game for Hannah-Pamplico. She pitched 2.1 innings and allowed 5 hits, 8 runs of which 4 were earned, walked 5, and struck out no one.
