Services for Dorothy Norton Johnson Carter were held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Bermuda Baptist Church Cemetery officiated by Rev. Carroll Stephens and Pastor Chris Alderman.
Visitation was held 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Carter, 83, died Friday, November 23, 2018 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.
Born in Dillon County, SC, August 8, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie Norton and Leona Hyatt Norton. She was a member of Bermuda Baptist Church, and was a retired Seamstress.
Survivors include her children, Daniel Thomas “Tommy” (Debra) Johnson of Hamer, Peggy Johnson Hunt of Dillon, and Timothy W. (Lisa Anne) Johnson of Dillon; grandchildren, Andrew Pierce, Richard Pierce, Andrew Hunt, Jessica Hunt, Jeremy Wayne Johnson, and Timberly Locklear; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Lonnie Norton, Jr. of Dillon.
Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her husbands, Daniel Walker Johnson and Billy Boyd Carter; and her brother, Robert Lee Norton.
