DCS Picks Up Win
The Dillon Christian School Warriors held on and picked up a 3-point, 64-61, win over the Pee Dee Academy Golden Eagles after relinquishing a 16-point lead in varsity basketball action played in Dillon on Friday, February 2.
The Eagles controlled the tip-off but the Warrior’s Ian Patterson placed the first 2 points on the scoreboard. However, Pee Dee’s #11 quickly answered with 2 points of his own.
The scoring would go back and forth, and the action would go from one end of the basketball court to the other end.
Ian Bethea connected on several 3-point shots for the Warriors.
After the first period of play, the Warriors were up by 10, 22-12, over their rivals.
At halftime, the Dillon Christian School Warriors were enjoying a 15-point lead.
The Golden Eagles fought back and by the end of the third period of play were only down by 7 points, 45-38.
Pee Dee tied the score in the final period but Dillon Christian School was able to hold on to win by 3 points.

Mullins Gets Close
Win Over Latta
The Mullins Auctioneers left Latta on Friday, February 2, with a 59-56 win over the Latta Vikings boys in varsity basketball action.
Kendall Moultrie connected for a game-high 22 points, and J. R. McClam added 15 for the Latta Vikings who came up just a little short.
Sam Pressley led the Mullins Auctioneers with 16 points while C. J. Gilchrist and Leron Davis each added 12 points for Mullins.
Latta will travel to Kingstree on Thursday, February 8.

Wildcats Lose To Georgetown
The Dillon Wildcats suffered a loss at Georgetown on Friday, February 2, in boys varsity basketball game.
Although Dillon held a slim 1-point lead at halftime, the Wildcats were outscored 17-5 in the third period of play.
Jalain Williams led the Wildcats with 16 points.
Dillon will travel to Loris today, Tuesday, February 6.

Latta Hands Kingstree
46-28 Loss
The Latta Lady Vikings handed Kingstree a 46-28 loss in varsity basketball action on Thursday, February 1, in a game played in Latta.
Latta found themselves down by 1 point at the end of the first period, 7-6, but held a 6-point lead at halftime, 20-14. Latta increased the lead to 11 points, 34-23, after 3 periods of play.
The Vikings’ Madelia Johnson scored a team-high 15 points followed by Riana Green who connected for 11 points. Nolan added 9 points, and Arica Gandy hit for 8 points. D. Green garnered 3 points in the win.
Kyerra Wright led Kingstree with 16 points while Barr added 4 points. Gamble, Tisdale, Burgess, and Wilson each garnered 2 points.
Latta is 9-7, 7-3 in Region 7-2A.
Latta will travel to Kingstree on Thursday, February 8.

Lady Auctioneers Hand
Latta 47-36 Loss
The Mullins Lady Auctioneers handed the Latta Lady Vikings a 47-36 loss in Latta on Friday, February 2.
Zakiya Williams scored a team-high 15 points for the Auctioneers followed by T. Lasane with 10. Davis and Swinton each contributed 7 points while Nichols added 6. James garnered 2 in the win.
Latta’s Riana Green led everyone in scoring with 23 points. Johnson added 5 points while D. Green hit for 4 points. Arica Gandy and Moya McDuffie each garnered 2 points.
Latta will travel to Kingstree on Thursday, February 8.

Lady Wildcats Return
Home With Triumphant
Win Over Georgetown
The Dillon Lady Wildcats returned home triumphantly on Friday, February 2, with a 59-39 win over the Georgetown Bulldogs in a varsity basketball game played in Georgetown.
The Bulldogs led 8-5 after the first period of play. At halftime, the Lady ‘Cats had clawed their way to a 5-point advantage, 17-12.
The third period of play was almost even in scoring with Dillon having a slight advantage, 18 points to Georgetown’s 17. In the final period of play the Lady ‘Cats outscored the Lady Bulldogs 23-8.
Jykya Bell led Dillon in scoring with 25 points followed by Chyna Pouncey with 9. A’Doshia Graves connected for 8 points while Shantazia Gordon and Jayla Goodwin each hit for 5 points. Adriana Ervin connected for 4 points. Ja’Rhonda McCrimmon garnered 2 points in the game.
Leyiah Blunt led Georgetown with 25 points. Arian Lance connected for 6 points, and Alisha Smith and Kelmorie Smith each hit for 3 points. Ladasia Dennison garnered 2 points.
Dillon was charged with 13 fouls in the game while Georgetown was guilty of 16.
The Dillon Wildcats will travel to Loris today, Tuesday, February 6.

King’s Academy Defeats DCS
The King’s Academy left Dillon on Thursday, February 1, with a 66-48 win over the Dillon Christian School Warriors in boys varsity basketball action.
The King’s Academy held a 14-point lead after the first period of play. At halftime the lead was 11 points, 42-31. After 3 periods of play The King’s Academy held a comfortable 18-point advantage.
The King’s Academy’s Tyrek Epps scored a game-high 19 points followed by T. J. Merritts with 18 points. Myrick, Towler, and Alexander each connected for7 points while Russell hit for 6 points. Orrico garnered 2 points in the win.
The Warriors’ Ian Patterson and Montez Alford each connected for 11 points while Diaz Alexander added 8 points. Jackson Wolfe hit for 6 points, and Phillip Campbell connected for 5 points. Walt Bailey added 3 points, and Garrett Collins and Ian Bethea each garnered 2 points.

Lady Eagles Defeat Warriors
The Pee Dee Academy Lady Eagles invaded the Dillon Christian School Warriors’ territory and left town with a 43-22 win in varsity basketball action played on Friday, February 2.
The Eagles controlled the opening tip-off and then proceeded to control the tempo of the game.
The score was knotted at 9 after the first period of play. By halftime Pee Dee held a 3-point lead. After 3 periods of play Pee Dee held a comfortable 15-point lead.

The Eagles’ Anna Grace Johnson led all scorers with 16 points while Lindsey Martin added 14 points in the win. Carter contributed 5 points, and M. Martin and L. Johnson each connected for 3 points. Brown garnered 2 points for the Eagles.
The Warrior’s Samantha (Sam) Carpenter connected for 7 points for the Warriors in the game while going over the 1,000-point mark in her scoring career with the team. She is the first lady to connect for 1,000 points in the history of the Dillon Christian School.
Sara Freeman and Audrey Polverari each added 5 points for the Warriors while Lizzie Outlar hit for 3 points. Sara Stone garnered 2 points.
