Mr. Van Buren Arnette, 92, died Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Greenbrier of Fairmont, NC after an illness.
A funeral service was held Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Oakdale Baptist Church, Fairmont, NC. The Burial followed at the Marietta Cemetery, Marietta, NC. The family received friends Tuesday, January 23, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at Cooke Funeral of Lake View.
Mr. Arnette was born in Robeson County, the son of the late Benjamin and Fannie Ford Arnette. He was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church and was a veteran of World War II. Mr. Arnette was a member of the Twin State Twisters.
Surviving Mr. Arnette is a son, Van Buren Arnette, Jr. (Christy); a daughter Patricia Arnette Sealey; two grandchildren, Stuart Sealy (Mindy) and Brooke Arnette ( Wesley), three great grandchildren, Emma And Abby Sealy, Liam Hooks; two sisters, Gaynell Melton and Grace Smith; special friends, Wayne and Peggy Putman, Page Spivey and Michael Sutton; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Arnette was preceded in death by his wife Ms. Laurel Arnette.
