Emilee Price Signs With USC-Union

Dillon High School senior Emilee Price took the next step in her softball career by signing with the University of South Carolina – Union.
Athletic Director Jackie Hayes congratulated Emilee.
Coach stated, “Emilee, you will be in the real world. Take everything you have learned with you. You’ve worked hard. You have a tremendous opportunity ahead. Apply yourself to your studies and softball.”
Miss Price has always enjoyed good support from her Father, her grandparents, Bobby and Cathorine Price; Bishop and Cathy Tucker, Marge White, other relatives, and from team members and coaching staffs.
Emilee should have no trouble in fitting in at the University of South Carolina – Union as Union is a small town just like Dillon. “I like the atmosphere of a small community so I will feel at home there,” quipped Emilee.
Miss Price was a utility player at Dillon playing outfield, middle infield, third base, and also as catcher. Therefore, she should not have any problems at Union finding a position to fill.
Emilee began playing softball at an early age and has enjoyed this sport for thirteen years.
Her father, Chris Price, influenced her most in this sport.
At one point in her younger years, he was her coach. Chris was a fixture at all games…those in Dillon and those played elsewhere. Also, her grandparents, family, and friends were at as many games as possible supporting Emilee in the game she loved.
Although Emilee plays volleyball, her passion is softball. She enjoys the game and has for many years now.
She will carry a winning spirit with her from high school to the college level as this was instilled in her since her first game as a youth thirteen years ago. She will always give 100%.
As a pastime, Emilee enjoys spending time with family and friends and, of course, playing softball.
Having been on a state championship team in high school this past year and traveling to the World Series in Louisiana in the past, Emilee wants to excel and help the University of South Carolina – Union win!
In rec ball, Emilee garnered awards including Dixie Debs State Champions 2017 and participated in the World Series in Louisiana and placed fifth there.
In high school softball, Miss Price was on the team that was the state runner-up in 2016. She also won MVP, Most Defensive Award, and the All-State All Rookie Award.
Dillon High School varsity Coach Kelvin Roller exclaimed, “Emilee is a player who’s been able to help our softball program in many ways. Her enthusiasm for the sport and her willingness to be coached has brought a positive attitude to our team. Emilee is a good teammate who helped our softball team by playing multiple positions. She’s played outfield, third base, middle infield, as well as catcher. Our program is extremely proud of Emilee, and we want to wish her good luck when she leaves Dillon High”.
Chris Price, Emilee’s Father, gleaming with pride in his eyes, remarked about Emilee, “I remember someone telling me that your senior year would fly by. Well, she was right. It has flown by. I could not be more proud of you. I watched you growing up playing different sports, but you wanted to go to school and play softball. I am very proud of all of your accomplishments. I was there the first time you ever played, and hopefully I will be there until the end. I want you to go to the University of South Carolina – Union, and be the best you can be. I will be there to watch you play. Remember to put God first in everything you do, and you will not go wrong. Remember I will always be your number one fan, and I will support you in whatever you want to do. Go Wildcats! Go Bantams. I love you. Your Daddy”.
