LATTA – Frances Chandler Morrell, 89, died Saturday, December 30, 2017, at her residence. Funeral services were held Monday, January 1, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Latta Presbyterian Church officiated by Rev. Paul Gasque. A private burial was held at Alford Family Cemetery. Visitation was held prior to the service from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the church. Kannaday Funeral Home in Latta, SC is assisting the family.
Mrs. Morrell was born in Minturn, South Carolina, January 12, 1928, the daughter of the late Samuel John and Julia Strom Chandler. Frances attended Coker College. Mrs. Morrell was a past-member of the Circle at the Latta Presbyterian Church and the Garden Club. She was a member of Latta Presbyterian Church. Frances was the widow of Henry Clyde Morrell.
Frances is survived by her son, James Richard Morrell (Dollie) of Latta, SC; daughter, Sherrill Gaddy (Mac) of Dillon, SC; grandchildren, Chandler Morrell, Ashley Lyles (Justin) and Austin Morrell (Amanda); and one step great-grandchild, Luke Huggins. She was predeceased by her son, Sammy Morrell; brother, Samuel Chandler; and sister, Caroline Chandler Caddell.
