Robert (Bob) O’Neil Bridgers

Robert (Bob) O’Neil Bridgers, 81, of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, formerly of Rowland, North Carolina, died September 20, 2017 after a brief illness at Embrace Hospice House in Myrtle Beach.
He was born in Lumberton, North Carolina on January 1, 1936, the son of the late C. Rupert and Dorothy H. Bridgers.
Mr. Bridgers was a retired Exxon Dealer as well as an owner of several small businesses in the Rowland community.
He was a lifelong member of Ashpole Presbyterian Church, also of Rowland, having served as Chairman of the Board of Deacons and an Elder.
He was committed to his community through his church and various organizations, including the Rowland Lions Club, Shriners as well as the Masons, where he was a 32nd Degree Mason.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by a sister, Linda B. Daugherty and a daughter, Kathy B. Tsitouris.
Surviving are his wife of sixty years, Nancy, two sons, Charles Edward Bridgers (Betsy) of Latta, South Carolina, Arnom O’Neil Bridgers (Cynthia) of Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina, a brother, J. Charles Bridgers (Susan) of Tampa, Florida, a sister, Katherine Arnette (Alton) of Dillon, South Carolina, a brother in law, Richard Daugherty of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, five grandchildren, Ashley B. Wing (Kevin), Kristen Bridgers, Lauren Bridgers, Hunter Tsitouris and Taylor Bridgers, three step grandchildren, Alexandra Smith, Andrew Smith and Mack Smith, two great-grandchildren, Pierce Wing and Chase Wing, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family received visitors at Boles Funeral Home in Rowland on Friday, September 22, from 6-8 p.m. A graveside service was held Saturday September 23, at 11 a.m. at the Rowland Cemetery.
