Khamele Manning Signs To Play Basketball With FMU Patriots

Khamele Manning took the next step in her lifelong dream of playing basketball on the next level as she signed with the Francis Marion University Patriots on Friday, April 14, at Dillon High School.
Athletic Director Jackie Hayes congratulated her for not only her great skills but also her work ethics and how she handles herself on and off the court and in the classrooms. He encouraged her to take what her parents had taught her while she was growing with her to the college level as usually parents are correct in what they inform you.
Coach Hayes offered his congratulations to the parents as they have always been present and involved in Khamele’s sports activities.
Her parents, Tarrick and Shavetta have always been present and supported her at the games.
Her parents are extremely proud of their daughter’s accomplishments, not only in basketball, but also in her academics which is more important.
“Khamele decided at a very early age that basketball is what she wanted to do. She has devoted herself to the game and her academics. We have instilled in her that academics is the backbone for all the future has to hold. Not only will Francis Marion get a great athlete, they will get a student athlete, ” stated her parents.
Dillon High varsity basketball coach, James McMillan, stated “It’s been a pleasure having her as one of our basketball players. She is very talented. We look forward to what you will accomplish.”
Khamele has enjoyed basketball since she was only 3 years old.
Khamele’s Father has influenced Khamele most in the game of basketball.
Although Khamele is dedicated to basketball, she also plays volleyball. She also enjoys shopping and playing 2K.
Khamele played point/shooting guard at Dillon High School.
Khamele feels that Francis Marion is a perfect fit for her as Francis Marion has a great program.
Although Khamele has received many awards, she places receiving the 1,000-point ball as the most important in her career thus far.
She will carry her work ethic to Francis Marion where she will major in sports medicine.
While at Dillon High School, Khamele pumped in 1,743 points, 266 rebounds, 278 assists, 22 blocked shots, and 30 steals.
