“I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS, EVEN TO THE END OF THE AGE.” – Matthew 28:20
The passage above contains the last words of Jesus recorded by the Apostle Matthew. This promise was given by Jesus after He arose from the grave. It was made to encourage believers while they await Jesus’ return.
Jesus is the Son of God. He died on a cross to pay humanity’s sin debt. He then conquered death after three days. After He arose, He appeared to hundreds of people before ascending into heaven. He has promised to return and usher in the Kingdom of Heaven on earth.
Jesus’ return will end the current age and, when that happens, the world will radically change. Until then, Christians have a mission to “Make disciples of all the nations.” As we work toward spreading the gospel, we will face overwhelming opposition and difficulties.
The mission is impossible to accomplish without the help of God. Jesus is one of the three Persons of God, so the power of God is constantly with believers through the continuous presence of Christ. The abiding presence of Jesus encourages believers in their work because the power of God makes the impossible become possible.
Jesus is in the miracle business. Since He has the power to conquer death, He can certainly change your life now and also give you eternal life. If you have never turned by faith to Jesus, I urge you to surrender now and become a genuine follower. The Bible says, “EVERYONE WHO CALLS UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED.” Every sinner who repents, turning by faith to receive Jesus as Lord, will experience His power and presence forever. The following is a prayer to help you call out to Him:
Jesus, I am a sinner, and I need to be saved. I believe You are the Son of God. You died to pay for my sin, and You have risen from the grave. I am sorry for my sin. I want to turn to You and have a new life. I want to follow You. I ask You to come into my heart, forgive me for my sin, and help me to live for You. Thank You, Jesus. Amen.
