Mrs. Lynda Faye Warwick Rice, 67, died April 4, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Estelle Sellers Warwick; her brothers-in-law, Rev Ray Wilkins, Billy Rice, E.M. Rice, and Wayne Gray; her nephew Baby Ray Wilkins.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, James S. (Butterball) Rice of the home; 2 sons, Rev. James E. Rice (Susan) and Cory Rice; her three grandchildren, Jamie, of Raleigh, NC, Constance of Wilmington, NC and Cody, of Lumberton. Also, her four brothers of Lumberton: Alton (Kathy), Junior (Edith), Jerry (Candy), Ricky (Patricia) and her two sisters, Phyllis (Kenny) McDaniel of Latta, SC, and Jackie Wilkins of Harrells, NC.
Faye worked at Kendall, then Converse, and finally over 30 years at Kayser-Roth, where she had many dear and loyal friends, especially Susan.
Faye was also known for her delicious cakes (sold by the slice) at many area Sun-Do and other stores. She was a hard worker, a loyal friend, and a dedicated church member who served in the choir, nursery, and church cooking as long as her health permitted.
Visitation will be Friday, 6-7 pm at Long Branch Baptist Church, 8878 NC Hwy 72 East, with the memorial service immediately following from 7-8 pm to celebrate her life.
The family will receive friends at 831 Beulah Church Rd, Lumberton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Long Branch Baptist Church, where she was a lifelong member, and she will be greatly missed.
