Lake View State Football Championship Team Honored With Ring Ceremony

The Lake View Wild Gators football 2016 A State Champions were honored with a ring ceremony for the players and beautiful pendants for the cheerleaders on Sunday, March 26, at 4:00 p.m., at the Lake View High School Gym, at 401 East Third Avenue.
Special awards were also presented to team managers and ball handlers.
Coach Brandy Huggins, Assistant Athletic Director, welcomed everyone and acknowledged all of the guests. She also praised all of the town for the many contributions that everyone had made to the program for it to be successful. She also thanked those responsible for the meals for the team. Everyone connected with the football program was thanked for whatever contribution.
Coach Johnny Dew had the invocation.
Head Coach Daryl King had many remarks praising his team, coaching staff, and Athletic Director Jackie Hayes. He praised his team for their hard work beginning only two weeks after losing to C. E. Murray in the 2015 season. He praised the players for their hard work, determination, and dedication to the team. The team’s hard work began in the weight room and continued throughout the season until the goal had been accomplished, another state championship for such a small 1A school. Coach King paid special thanks to the seniors as they had contributed for so long to the team.
Coach King also thanked the wives of the coaches for supporting the coaches for the many hours away from home while preparing for the year in football.
The big moment that all the players and cheerleaders were anxiously waiting to happen was finally here with the presentation of the rings which was made by Coach Jackie Hayes, Athletic Director; Coach Daryl King, Lake View Head Football Coach, and was assisted by Superintendent Ray Rogers, and the entire Lake View coaching staff.
The Lake View cheerleaders made their way one by one as each name was called to receive their beautiful pendants. Now, it was the players turn. Once again, as each name was called, the players made their way in an orderly fashion to receive the coveted state championship ring. Each player received the ring and returned to each one’s appointed seat. After everyone had received the rings, they were allowed to open them. Immediately everyone present knew the players were very delighted!
The benediction was by Coach Johnny Dew.
