Macy Hyatt Leads The Way In Latta Softball Team Win Over Carvers Bay

Latta’s Macy Hyatt led the way with 2 hits including a double and 2 rbi in the 9-1 win over Carvers Bay in varsity softball on Friday, March 17, in Hemingway.
The Vikings’ Hannah Jackson pitched the entire 7 innings and picked up the win while allowing 1 run that was earned, 4 hits, struck out 3, and walked 3.
Meagan Dennis was tagged with the loss. She pitched 5.2 innings, allowed 7 hits, 7 runs of which 6 were earned, walked 1, and struck out 1.
Latta grabbed 4 runs in the the first inning to set the stage for the evening. Carvers Bay lone run was also scored in the first inning. Latta added 3 more runs in thesecond inning and another run in the third inning. Neither team could get anything going in the fourth inning. However, Latta tagged another run in the fifth inning.
Kyra Grant also garnered 2 hits and 2 rbi in 3 at-bats for Latta. Carvers Bay committed 3 errors while Latta only committed 1.
Latta is 5-3 for the season.
Latta played Dillon in Dillon on Monday, March 20.
