Johnsonville Gets 7-1 Victory Over Latta Boys

The Johnsonville Flashes varsity baseball team came into Latta on Thursday, March 23, and took a 7-1 victory home behind the pitching of Lee Daniel who threw a complete 7-inning game. Daniel gave up no earned runs, walked 2, and struck out 3 in the contest.
Latta’s McLeod Carmichael, who pitched 5 2/3 innings, was tagged with the loss. Carmichael allowed 6 hits, 7 runs of which 4 were earned, walked 3, and struck out 6.
Johnsonville committed 3 errors, and Latta was guilty of 4.
Johnsonville placed a run on the scoreboard in the top of the third inning for the first score of the game. The Latta Vikings managed to tie the game in the bottom of the fourth inning on an error. The fifth inning proved to be the demise for Latta as Johnsonville placed 5 runs on the scoreboard beginning when Prosser singled off Carmichael.
Latta’s Kody Anderson and Dylan Brewer each connected for a double in 2 at-bats while McLeod Carmichael garnered a single in his 3 at-bats.
The Viking’s Pierce Watson picked up the only rbi for the team in the game.
Johnsonville’s Prosser and Hatfield each singled and picked up 2 rbi in 3 at-bats while Daniel also picked up a rbi. Marlowe doubled in his 2 at-bats while J. Cagle singled in his 3 at-bats. J. Marlowe managed 2 singles in 4 at-bats while Lee also singled in 4 at-bats.
