Services for Jerry John Hammonds were held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Oakland Holiness Church with burial in the church cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation was held 7-9 p.m. Saturday at Cooper Funeral Home.
Mr. Hammonds, 62, died Thursday, February 23, 2017 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, SC.
Born in Saint Eugene, Dillon, SC, on July 2, 1954, he was the son of Annie Lee Jacobs and the late Charles Jacobs.
Survivors include his wife, Marguerite Hammonds of Hamer; sons, Michael (Jessica) Strickland, Timothy (Lindsay) Hammonds, and Jerry Wayne (Amber) Hammonds; grandchildren, Kylie Strickland, Allen Strickland, Nicholas Ryan Lewellen, Timothy Charles Hammonds, Jr., Nathan Wayne Hammonds, Cameron Hammonds, Blaze Hammonds, and Logan Hammonds; brothers, Kelly (Karen) Jacobs, Heritage (Zena) Jacobs, two best friends, Charles Wayne (Peggy) Ivey, and Dallas (Sherry) Craner.
Mr. Hammonds was preceded in death by his father, Charles Jacobs; sister, Hazel Ann Jacobs, granddaughter, Gabrielle Strickland (Gabby) and dear friend, Clayton Driggers.
