The Latta Lady Vikings defeated the Carvers Bay Bears 29-23 in varsity basketball action played in Latta on Tuesday, January 24.
Latta never trailed in this low-scoring game while leading 7-5 after the first period of play. At halftime Latta’s lead was 4 points, 14-10. At the end of three periods Latta led 16-13.
Arica Gandy pulled down 21 rebounds and scored 6 points in the victory while Riana Green connected for 8 points for the Vikings.
James also hit for 6 points while Rayne Nolan had 4 points. DaKiasha Green scored 3 points, and Brezarr had 2 for Latta.
Dymin Cole hit for 12 points while Adams connected for 7 for the Bears while Weston hit for 3 in the loss.
Latta is 5-9 for the season and 4-4 in Region 2-A.
Latta will travel to Marion on Friday, January 27, at 6:00 p.m.
