Town Council Meeting
Date: Thursday, December 15, 2016
Time: 7:00 p.m.
Place: Lake View Town Council Chambers
Present: Mayor Boston Page, Jr., council members Layton Townsend, Jr., David Johnson, Mertis Barnett, Matthew Elvington, and Sara Elvington, clerk.
Agenda
The meeting was called to order; Mayor Page said a prayer for the Town and Council members. Minutes from November 17, 2016, meeting were reviewed, motion by Council Member Matthew Elvington to approve the minutes and seconded by Council Member Mertis Barnett, unanimous vote to accept minutes as presented.
1. Reviewed some information on carpet verses tile for Community Center. The decision for tile was made.
2. Still gathering information on FEMA.
3. New computer program has been installed by Mr. Harold Kornblut; he will assist as needed with instructions on the new software.
4. Again, Mayor and Council agree that the team that did the work on COTB did a great job. A large thank you is owed to Frankie James, Chanda Cook, Debra Johnson, Mertis Barnett, Josephine Gilchrist, Martha Isabelle, Sara Elvington, and Mrs. Johnnie Leuhrs. Council and Mayor are in great hopes there will be more large events planned for the Town throughout the year.
5. Discussion on the final audit to be given at the January meeting, the books will be ready.
6. Mayor and Council reviewed the insurance policy, cost replacement for said items, and finalized a renewal plan.
7. We are still getting estimates on the damage and still have a need to find someone to do all the repairs since Hurricane Matthew.
