Mr. Paul “Truett” Rogers, died August 26, 2016 at Autumn Care of Shallotte, NC, after an illness.
A funeral service was held Sunday, August 28, 2016 at 3:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Lake View. Burial followed at Lake View Cemetery, directed by Cooke Funeral Home. The family received friends Sunday at 2:00 pm at the church prior to the funeral service.
Mr. Truett was born in Dillon County on August 19, 1919, the son of the late Hiniard and Lillie Rogers. He lived all his life in Lake View and was a farmer. He served in World War II and taught Sunday School for many years at First Baptist Church of Lake View. He was Post Commander of American Legion Post 601 in Lake View.
He is survived by three sons, Paul Rogers, Michael Rogers (Faye) and Mitchell “Mickey: Rogers; grandchildren, Paul Proctor Rogers, Belinda Nancy Ogorck, Thomas Michael Rogers, II, and Jenifer Leigh Rogers Wood; and 8 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Irene Edwards Rogers; and his siblings Cephus, Eva Boyd Newberry, Ben, Trayce, Hiniard Garron (Big), and Jessie McKinon.
