Latta Police Chief Crystal Moore has been certified as a petition candidate for Dillon County Sheriff, according to Suzie Edwards, director of the Dillon County Voter Registration office.
Edwards said that Moore turned in 1,546 signatures, but only 980 signatures were required. Edwards said they checked 1,288 of the signatures that Moore turned in, and 1,099 of those were good signatures.
Moore will face incumbent Sheriff Major Hulon in November.
