Ribbon Cutting Marks Opening Of New KJ’s Grocery Store

The new KJ’s grocery store that is replacing Carl’s Food Center opened its doors on Wednesday.
A ribbon cutting was held to recognize the event.
The nearly 32,000 sq. ft. store features wider aisles for a more spacious shopping experience, an expanded deli with an eat-in area, and expansions of products in nearly every department.
This is the most expensive KJ’s that the company has built and has modern features such as energy-saving LED lights etc.
John Symons, Chief Operating Officer of FLOCO Foods, said that Dillon has been a fantastic store for the company for many years. He said Dillon was a great investment. He said they have not raised prices and that most price zones remain the same; however, due to the wider availability and variety of products, shoppers will have more specials on numerous items. He said if there are items that customers want in the store that they can’t find, then they should let them know and they will try to get them.
Manager David Johnson said he is excited about the new store. He said they have come a long way from Carl’s to this point. Johnson said he and his team are committed to making sure that customers have a great shopping experience. He said there is more variety in nearly all areas including frozen foods, produce, canned goods, the deli, and meats. He said KJ’s will be a one-stop shop of sorts where one can come in, pay a bill, and shop. He also noted that they have not had any personnel changes other than to add additional staff.
Dillon County Council Chairman T.F. “Buzzy” Finklea, Jr., said he was pleased that the company had chosen to make this investment in Dillon County and that he wishes them much success with this new store.
