DCS Juniors Go On Mission Trip

THE DILLON CHRISTIAN SCHOOL Junior Class went to Webster Springs, WV for our first ever Junior Mission Trip. We worked at an elementary school that is being changed into a community center in the small town of Diana. Our crew was asked to do lots of work as they get the building ready to hold community meetings, birthday parties, weddings, community meals, and host mission teams. The facility was about 30 years old so we did lots of scraping, painting, and cleaning. Half of our students focused on painting the classrooms and taking down old chalk boards and bulletin boards. The other half worked on scraping the paint off the floor of the gym bathrooms. The paint had been ruined from standing water so our students scrapped the old paint off, cleaned the floor, and repainted the floor. This was a very strenuous task but our students worked hard and did an incredible job. In the evenings we spent time reflecting on how God worked in and through us that day. We also took time to visit “The Custard Stand” a local restaurant for some amazing bonding time. It was a fantastic trip and these students represented Jesus in a powerful way. It was a blessing to be a part of this trip and watch the mission work that God is doing.
