During the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated 2016 South Carolina State Leadership Conference in Columbia, SC; Mu Kappa Zeta Chapter (Marion/Dillon Counties) was selected the number one chapter in the Pee Dee Area.
Members from chapters in Chesterfield, Clarendon, Darlington, Dillon, Florence, Georgetown, Horry, Lee, Marion, Marlboro, Sumter and Williamsburg counties comprise the Pee Dee Area. The chapter is very active in community service activities. Some of the activities involve volunteering at nursing homes and senior citizen programs, adoption of an elementary school in each of Marion and Dillon Counties, presenting monthly Healthcare Moments at local churches, senior programs and food bank programs; guiding “Go4Life” Sit and Be Fit exercise program for senior citizens, donating toiletries to the women of the Pee Dee Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Assault; also participating in other programs such as Relay for Life and March of Dimes.
The chapter has been invited to be a part of several Health Fairs in Marion County.
The chapter’s main goal is to be of service to the communities in Marion and Dillon counties. Mu Kappa Zeta continues to Build on the Principles of Zeta While Blazing New Paths.
