City Passes Resolution To Submit Grant Application

The Dillon City Council passed Resolution #01-16 authorizing the submission of an application by the City of Dillon to the SC Community Development Block Grant Program.
The resolution states the following:
A Resolution Authorizing the Submission of an Application by the City of Dillon to the State of South Carolina Community Development Block Grant Program.
WHEREAS, the State of South Carolina is authorized to make CDBG Grants to local governments with identified community and economic development needs/priorities, and
WHEREAS, the City of Dillon has identified such needs and priorities and has made such information available to the citizens at duly advertised public hearings, and
WHEREAS, one of the needs involves undertaking a Community infrastructure grant for Water Upgrades, and
WHEREAS, total CDBG project costs are estimated to be $1,345,000;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Dillon City Council, South Carolina duly assembled this 11th day of April 2016;
Section I.     That Dillon made application for a Community Development Block Grant in the amount of $750,000, to upgrade its water system benefitting low and moderate income residents.
Section II.   That Dillon shall provide a local match of not less than 10% of the CDBG funds awarded ($75,000), and any additional funding (estimated to be $520,000) required to construct the water system upgrades.
Section III.  That Dillon shall provide funds for all non-CDBG eligible costs as deemed such by Grants Administration.
Section IV.   That any cost savings occurring will be shared with Grants Administration on a pro-rata basis.
Section V.    That the Mayor and or City Manager be authorized to execute documents in conjunction with said application and to submit any and all necessary information in accordance with normal policy.
Section VI.   That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
