Johnsonville Baseball Defeats Dillon

Johnsonville defeated Dillon 9-1 on Monday, May 2, in varsity baseball at Johnsonville.
Justin Thompson pitched the complete game.  He allowed 3 hits, 1 run, walked 1, and struck out 4 for the victory for Johnsonville.
Rae Rae McGirt was the losing pitcher.  He pitched 2 1/3 innings and allowed 4 hits, 4 runs of which were earned, walked 3, and struck out 4.
The Wildcats committed 2 errors, and Johnsonville did not commit any in the game.
Johnsonville scored 2 runs in the bottom of the first inning and added 2 in the bottom of the third, 1 in the bottom of the fourth, and 4 in the bottom of the sixth while picking up 7 hits.
Jay Newell was 2-for-3 at the plate with a home run, a double, and 2 rbi for Johnsonville. Christian Pennell was perfect in his 3 at-bats with 3 hits including a double and 2 rbi while Austin Cox connected for a home run and 2 rbi in his 4 trips to the plate.
Dillon’s Austin Moody garnered 1 hit and the lone rbi in 3 trips to the plate while Jon Mitchell Carter also picked up a triple in his 3 at-bats.
The Dillon Wildcats finish the season at 9-10 while having lost 8 of the 10 games in the seventh inning.
