The Dillon Wildcats defeated Aynor 7-3 in varsity softball action played in Aynor on Tuesday, April 19.
The Wildcats Tori Grimsley pitched the complete 7 innings and allowed 6 hits, 3 runs, walked no one, and struck out 6.
Brook Elliott was credited with the loss having pitched 7 innings and allowing 8 hits and 7 runs while striking out 2.
Aynor took an early lead in the bottom of the second inning scoring 2 runs. The Blue Jackets picked up another run in the bottom of the seventh inning.
The Lady Wildcats picked up a run in the top of the third inning and added 5 runs in the top of the fifth inning. The ‘Cats also picked up a run in the top of the sixth inning.
Marissa Tyndall connected on 2 hits and 2 rbi in 4 trips to the plate for Dillon while Brittany Miller was 2 for 3 with a rbi. Auh’Kieria Smiling was also connected for 2 hits in 4 at-bats including a double for the Lady Wildcats.
Dillon has 12 wins and 4 losses for the season and is 8-1 in Region 8-2A.
