Wildcats Defeat Mullins In Five Innings

The Dillon Wildcats pitcher Billy McGirt allowed only 3 hits and struck out 9 and walked 4 as the Wildcats defeated Mullins in 5 innings in varsity baseball action in Mullins on Tuesday, March 22.
Dillon took an early lead in the game scoring 2 runs in the top of the second inning and adding another run in the top of the third and 2 more in the fourth.  However, the ‘Cats scored 7 runs in the top of the fifth.
Dillon had 16 hits in the game and committed no errors while Mullins committed 6 errors.
The Wildcats’ Austin Moody had  3 hits in 4 trips to the plate while Tristan Brigman was perfect in his 2 trips to the plate garnering 2 hits with 3 rbi.
Jon-Mitchell Carter went 2 for 4 including a home run and 2 rbi for the Dillon Wildcats.
Mullins’ Baxley pitched 4 innings and allowed 10 hits, 8 runs of which 5 were earned, walked 3, and struck out 2.
The Dillon Wildcats are 3-4 for the season and 2-1 in Region 8-2A.
Dillon will host Aynor at 6:30 p.m. today (Thursday, March 24).
