Latta Baseball Team Defeats Marlboro County

The Latta Vikings varsity baseball defeated Marlboro County 12-0 in 5 innings on Saturday, Feb. 27, at South Florence.
The Vikings blasted 7 runs in the fourth inning to take command of the game.
The Vikings Jackson Williams connected for a rbi double, a 2-run double by Caleb Mishue, a rbi double by McLeod Carmichael, a two-run triple by Jonathan Ray, and a rbi double by Dalton Lane.
McLeod Carmichael was the winning pitcher as he pitched a shutout, allowed only 2 hits, and struck out five. Carmichael threw 55 strikes and only 38 balls during the entire game. Carmichael had 3 groundouts and 3 flyouts.
Zack Norton was the game’s losing pitcher. He lasted 1 2/3 innings and allowed 5 runs.
Jacob Evers, Tony Gram, adn Jeff Hurdon each pitched in relief for the loss for Marlboro.
The Latta Vikings scored first and held their opponents scoreless.
