The Bishop England Bishops defeated the Dillon Lady Wildcats basketball team 56 to 48 in Charleston on Tuesday, Feb. 23, to advance to the Class 2A lower state finals held this past Saturday in Florence.
Rhetta scored a game-high 18 in the victory to end the Wildcats’ hope of a trip to the finals for the third year in a row!
The Lady Wildcats were led in scoring by Kendra McLeod with 15 points.
Adriana McColllum and Khamele Manning each scored 7 points. Ny’Asia Campbell hit for 6 points while A’Doshia Graves socored 5. Kya Bell and Dria Campbell each connected for 3 points in the ‘Cats defeat. Da’Kerhia Samuel hit for 2 points in the game.
The ‘Cats ended their season with 23 wins and 3 losses.
The Bishops’ Erin Rose and Jo Jo Thompkins each scored 14 points in the victory while McQuenney connected for 6 points. Corbett and Tucker each added 2 points in the win.
