Latta Girls Win Over Green Sea

The Latta Vikings girls basketball team defeated Green Sea Floyds 63 to 44 on Friday at Green Sea.
The Vikings took at 28 to 15 lead at the half while scoring only 11 points in the third quarter while Green Sea put 21 points on the board.  Green Sea could only muster 8 in the final period as Latta garnered 24.
Rianna Green led Latta with 22 points.  Takeria Legette added 19 points, 15 assists, 12 rebounds, and 7 steals.
Arica Gandy added 14 points and 10 rebounds in the win while Moya McDuffie had 4 points,  Cierra Sullivan scored 2 points, and Tamera Campbell added 2 points.
Iyonna McKenzie had 7 steals and 3 assists to aid in Latta’s victory.
The Green Sea Floyds team was led in scoring by Tamara Jackson who had 15 points.  Paige McDaniels added 13.  Graham scored 6 points, J. Johnson had 5 points, Lowman  and A. McCall each scored 2 points, and S. McCall had 1.
The Latta girls are now 7 and 1 in Region 8-A.
Latta will host Carvers Bay on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
