There was an officer-involved shooting earlier today (Wednesday) on Pocosin Road in Oak Grove that resulted in a death, according to Captain Cliff Arnette of the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office.
It has been reported that the deceased is not the officer.
According to Thom Berry of SLED, agents from the regional office and crime scene technicians were sent to the scene. No other details were available.
This is the fifth officer involved shooting in the state this year, Berry said.
