DCS Falls To West Brunswick

The Lady Warriors of Dillon Christian School hosted the Lady Trojans of West Brunswick High School Friday night at Warrior Gymnasium.

A strong fourth period showing by the Trojans gave them the 35-29 non-conference win. The Warriors tallest player stands around five feet seven inches with guards Sara Bass and Erin Hamer just shy of five feet two inches.
Though small in size the Warriors matched up well with the Trojans a team that had two players near the six foot mark and a thirteen year old center that tops out at six feet four. The Lady Warriors are an im
proved team with no seniors on the roster and are expected to improve with each game. The Trojans led 7-5 at the end of the first period but the Warriors held a 13-10 lead going into the halftime break. The defensive battle continued into the second half with the lead changing four times in the third period.
The Trojans took a 19-17 lead at the buzzer ending the third period.
Six feet four inch Breanna Meree got going in the fourth period grabbing four rebounds and scoring four points to help push the Trojans into the 35-29 win.
On the board for the Trojans, Jaida Allen had 14 points with three rebounds, Dyna Jefferies had six points with two rebounds, Natyaa Gore had five points, Myyah Brown and Breanna Meree had four points each with Meree adding six rebounds and Gwen Gentre added two points with two rebounds.
For the Warriors, Samantha Carpenter had 12 points with 10 rebounds, Sara Freeman had six points, two rebounds and a steal, Anna Thompson had five points with three rebounds, Lizzie Outlar had four points with four rebounds and a steal, Katelyn Thompson had two points with four rebounds and two steals, Erin Hamer had four rebounds and a steal, Sara Bass had four rebounds, Audrey Polverari had three rebounds, Sara Stone had two rebounds and a steal, Caitie Eggert and Myra Bracey added two rebounds each.
The Warriors will be observing Christmas Break and will return to play on January 5th as they travel to Darlington County for a region game with the Trinity/Byrnes School. JV games begin at 4pm.
Warrior AD Christian Wolfe reports that the JV boys team is undefeated going into the holiday break.
