Wildcats Player Chosen For Shrine Bowl

The Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas will feature seniors from North and South Carolina who were fortunate enough to have been selected by the coaching staffs of the two states.
In his fourth year as a starting offensive lineman for the defending 2-A State Champion Dillon Wildcats, Adonis “Poppy” Sealey (6’1″, 261) has taken his position at the left tackle slot on line every season since he put on the gold and black of the Wildcats. As a ninth grader, he showed offensive line coach Jason Gunter that he was destined to play the game the way it should be played.
“He is a great kid and is a lot of fun to be around,” said Coach Gunter, who came to Dillon in 1968 to coach with the late Paul Chapman.
“He is good in the class room, making good grades, and is well-mannered. Not only is he a leader in the class room, he is a leader on the field as well.”
“He is definitely a team player and has great work ethics,” he continued.
Running back Daeshawn Davis, who this year has had much success running the football from the “Wildcat” position (Where the ball is centered directly to the running back) said of Sealey, “It’s fun to run in behind him and the middle of the line! They really open up some big holes!”
The game will start at 1 PM on Saturday, December 19 at Gibbs Stadium in Spartanburg, but with no coverage in our area.
